I remember last season we were trying to get the right panther sound. [An overheard panther attack is an unforgettable moment at the end of season three.] And we just kept listening to it over and over and over again, just trying to get that panther sound when it leaps across the wall. And then we got it, and then I went, “Okay! What else?” And Elmo, the mixer, said, “That’s it.” And then we all kind of looked at each other, like, That’s it?? In that moment people will probably be crying. It’s just a very lovely group. We’re all gonna really miss each other. I think back to Barry’s first season, and it seemed a gentler show then. Do you see it the same way? How has the show changed?

I do think the Top everybody has an addiction mine just happens to backstreet boys 2023 shirt in other words I will buy this show started out very much as coming out of Alec [Berg, cocreator] and my sensibilities—and then as it progressed, I think it became more about my wanting to take it into a darker area, or it was just a more honest area. I got more interested in, Where would this actually go? Considering what [the character] has done—especially killing Janice Moss [one of Barry’s victims in season one] and trying to cover that up—it just naturally became less and less funny. But within that you still find funny scenes. I watch season three and laugh a lot. And I think this season is actually funnier than season three. I think there’s a lot of pure comedy moments in it—but the dramatic moments are so brutal.
