It also serves as one of three art studios for the project’s inaugural artist residency program, which just concluded as part of the soft opening.

Each artist is invited personally by the two founders, and, in addition to room and board, is given carte blanche in their activities. “It’s not Big Brother,” notes Laloum. “It’s their home for the time they’re there. We make introductions, host viewings, and advise them on their work, but it’s their time.”
